I decided to post a review of 2006 for all of those that are interested in my life... I started out the year in Miami Beach, Florida. It was the first year (since I was a child) that I was asleep well before the drop midnight. Yeah, so I am lame. But, I really wanted to get up at 5:30am and watch the sunrise. I did just that. It was actually one of my favorite memories of Justin and I. He was amazed with the sand and buried himself and I took pictures. Our first family vacation ever took place on January 2nd - 6th , we were in the Bahamas on a cruise with my family. From mid January until mid May I roomed with Robyn - one of my very best friends. I had a great time! We wanted to get an apartment in Cincinnati beginning in May, but we were shot down by student life. So, I decided to bust my tail and graduate in December rather than May 2007. But, then student life offered my an RA job in "new campus housing" for the 2006-2007 school year. During the summer I helped with the youth group at church and then I went to Jamaica with AIM in June and July. The team was interesting... I wound up being sick for most of the project. When I got back to the states at the end of July I found out that I had numerous gallstones and had to have my gallbladder taken out the weekend before the fall semester began. The fall semester started at the end of August, but RA training started in mid-August. I suffered through Monday - Friday "training", had gallbladder surgery on Monday and started the semester on Wednesday. (It almost killed me) I only took 13 hours of classes, but with school, work and being an RA, this past semester was the worst and busiest semester of my college career. Some how I managed to get 2 A's and 2 B's when I fully expected to get C's and D's. I worked in the dining hall office as an administrative assistant during the fall semester. It was seriously the best job that I have ever had. Brian cares about his employees, and I going to miss the job. Things "went down" with student life and my RA job, so I quit. I finished out the fall semester, and I moved into my own place back home (in Fairborn) on December 1st. So, what's up with 2007?? Well, I have one last semester since I accpeted the RA position... But, I only have to go to Cincinnati on Thursdays to take Biology and Advanced Communications. So, I will be doing that and finishing up some correspondence work. From January 4th - 11th I will be in the Dominican Republic doing missions work. On May 12th I will graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Biblical Studies with a minor in Psychology. I am applying for the Masters of Arts in Counseling program at CCU, and I should know if I am accepted or not in March. Right now I don't plan to go to AIM this summer - but I will go as a leader if Richard and Carol ask me. Right now I don't have a job, and I am going to be living off of my savings and my grants and loans from school until I finish my correspondence work. During 2007 I hope too get reconnected to things and people in and around Fairborn. I hope that you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! |
